The Lady Bowen Trust is an independent charitable Trust, managed by the Public Trustee of Queensland, which partners with existing charities to assist Queenslanders who are homeless and have complex needs to build a better future. The Lady Bowen Trust provides grants for organisations to provide practical support for people who are homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness. YHP have been extremely lucky to receive three rounds of grants through the Lady Bowen Trust over the last few years.
Oil Baron Supply are supporting YHP through the donation of $5 for every item of merchandise that they sell online and are also going to sponsor client activities such as our bowling group outing and our easter egg activity.
1-World Charity Shop in Browns Plains feel very strongly about supporting other local Queensland charities and are fortunate enough to be able to make donations to well deserving charities every month. 1-World Charity Shop provided Youth Housing Project with a $500 donation.
Funded programs through the Department of Housing and Public Works are: Crisis Accommodation Program, Mobile Support Program, Community Rent Scheme Program and Same House Different Landlord Program.
Grant Thornton are one of YHP’s major supporters donating gift cards each year to provide young people with home starter packs & emergency groceries, donating annually to the Wrap Up for Youth Homelessness-Wear a Scarf Day, as well as providing ongoing donations and support.
Bunnings Albion and Toombul have supported YHP in renovating their parent unit complex by donating all the paint and painting utensils needed to paint a very big brick fence. They have also donated plants, plant pots and potting mix to add to the renovations.
Share the Dignity provide personal hygiene products to the young women who are supported and housed by YHP.
YHP were nominated as one of three contenders in their Living Local Community Grants and came first runner up and received a $3000 IKEA Gift Card which will be used to purchase some new furniture for our units.
Creative Kids outside School Hours Care in Clontarf supported YHP through their fund raising activities for “Wrap Up for Youth Homelessness – Wear a Scarf Day”.
Magic Moments Foundation who through their Brisbane Basket Brigade organise each year wonderful Christmas hampers for all our young people.
Community Grants
Transurban Community Grants Program for the grant to provide assistance in the provision of home starter kits for young people moving into YHP.
Brisbane City Council for their provision of financial assistance to YHP by reducing the rate expenses for the CAP properties through their Community Support Funding Program.
Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust for the provision of Food Vouchers, Toys and a financial grant to take our young people out for an end of year Christmas celebration.
